This Friday, Miranda Haus will take advantage of The Pub Club’s summer focus on “Conference Prep” by developing her skill in effective scientific communication. Miranda will practice two 15-minute talks, which she will be presenting at the International Botanical Congress (IBC) in Shenzhen, China.  Her first talk focuses on the novel application of optical topometry to the plant epidermis (published here if you would like to pre-read). The second talk will highlight key developmental changes in stomatal patterning when Arabidopsis is grown in elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations.

As getting feedback is a critical element in skill development, please come prepared to evaluate Miranda on 1) clearly communicating the big ideas of her research and 2) her presentation style.
