The Pub Club (Apr 28): RCR – Statistical Methods in Plant Molecular Biology

April 28, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

One of our TPC members, André Velásquez (He Lab), will be leading an RCR (Responsible Conduct for Research) discussion on “Statistical Methods in Plant Molecular Biology.”

In this session, we will discuss a few of the statistical methods used in plant molecular biology, their correct and improper use, and how our expectations for a certain result influence our acceptance of a particular statistical test. Examples will be drawn from literature and from my own biased personal experience.

As this Gathering counts as another hour towards our RCR requirement for the year, please plan to share your science updates either before or after the official gathering. Also, be sure to sign in, come on time and stay the full hour to receive your 1-hr RCR credit.  Hope to see you there!

Diverse Skills targeted: Data analysis, statistics, and responsible research (ethics)
